FIELD STATION

Visit our first home on the water

Hosted by GBX~ Gowanus Bay Terminal, our floating Field Station is an experimental learning site for water science, waste reduction, sustainable building, and ecosystem restoration.

It’s a public space for learning, training, and gathering, available for classes, workshops and private events. We strive to be carbon-free and self-contained, a model of how we can work with and on the water.

Built on a barge generously sponsored by our hosts GBX~, it has an exhibitionpavilion, our Sunroom office, open-air classroom, and extensive gardens, all made of salvaged materials with the help of volunteers and community members. You are welcome to join us on the water for our many events and volunteer days, and we’re open for visits by school groups, summer camps, and other organizations.
