GREEN INDUSTRY
JOB TRAINING
Local Power: No-cost Clean Energy Training.
Local Power is RETI Center’s comprehensive clean energy workforce training program that prepares underserved New Yorkers for high-demand green jobs. The program offers hands-on training in solar installation, energy and building efficiency, EV battery and storage, and essential safety certifications such as OSHA and GPRO. Participants receive individualized coaching, case management, and job placement support, with strong partnerships across industry and community-based employers.
Throughout the program, participants are supported with soft-skills training and 12 months of wrap-around services delivered through our network of service providers, ensuring they can navigate both personal and professional challenges that may arise. Mentoring opportunities are also available, connecting trainees with experienced industry professionals who provide guidance, accountability, and career insights.
Local Power centers historically excluded communities—BIPOC youth, unemployed and underemployed adults, and justice-involved individuals—providing paid training, supportive services, and clear pathways into family-sustaining careers. By combining technical instruction, mentorship, soft-skills development, and real-world work experience, Local Power equips residents with the skills and confidence needed to enter and succeed in the clean energy sector.
